Impress only plays sounds during the transitions between slides.
If you want to play music throughout the presentation, run an audio

Dan Lewis,
Thanks for your advise.
I tried it and I got music during running the slide show.
But I must first start the music and then start the slide show. I
want that the slide show start the music. This seems not possble.
I searched the Impress forum and there I found this phrase:
'Impress does not support one sound file for the whole presentation,
but it will do one sound file per slide.'
I think this is true and so rest me nothing as to wait untill this
function is implemented.
I have another problem and I hope you can give me a hint in this
question.
I will change from Apple Works to OpenOffice. Text documents give no
problems but databases produced with Works give problems. The
extension in Works for a database is .cwk. File name is xxx.cwk and I
want xxx.odb.
I discovered this procedure:
1. save the content of xxx.cwk in .rtf format (xxx.rtf)
2. import this xxx.rtf file in New > spreadsheet
3. edit this spreadsheet and save it as xxx.ods
4. New > dbase and choose 'connect to an existing database' and
select 'spreadsheet' .Follow the instructions and
5. choose 'register the NewDatabase and open the base xxx.odb'
6. in the xxx.odb window is a table with the name 'sheet1'
So faf so good.
The problem: it is impossible to use the Tables button and as I close
and quit the file 'sheet1' disappears. Result: zero.
Is here a solution?
