2007/2/23, John Hughes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
I am using version 2.1 of OpenOffice.org on a quadG5 Macintosh desktop computer. My problem is my font number formats are incorrect. That is to say everything about a font works okay - all characters and symbols. But when I try to enter numbers they appear in a format I do not recognize. If I press the 2 key or 3 key etc. what appears in the document is this strange character (see attachment). When I open a document which was created on another Macintosh computer as a OpenOffice document and which appeared correctly on that computer all the numbers in the document are changed into this strange format Here is an example of these characters taken from the OpenOffice help file in the *Number Format Codes *help page which has also been effected. The above five lines should read: 3456.78 as 3456.8 9.9 as 9.900 13 as 13.0 and 1234.567 as 1234.57 5.75 as 5 3/4 and 6.3 as 6 3/10 .5 as 0.5 I can't seem to find the source of the corruption which is causing this anomaly. HELP. Thank you, John Hughes [EMAIL PROTECTED]
John, I believe these are arab numbers... don't know how you got them, neither how to get rid of them. It seems that somehow your keyboard layout was changed to include arab numbers (some language confusion here, because we call our western numbers also arab...) -- Guy using dutch OOo 2.1 RC 2 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and dutch OOo 2.2 RC 1 on a G4 PPC Powerbook Tiger -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
