All:

I am new to Open Source and have been very impressed with Open Office. In fact, I was using the Office Suite exclusively until I ran into problems with Impress.

When attempting to save edits I had done on a presentation, I would get an error message stating "an error occurred" and my options would be to <Save>, <Discard> or <Cancel> - if I chose the <Save> option, the error message would repeat itself. My only viable option when I reached this point was to <Discard> but this would result in a loss of all my edits.

Thinking the problem could be due to a corrupt download, I did download and install OpenOffice again - but it never cleared up the file.

Currently I am creating my presentations in MS PowerPoint and then opening the finished presentation in Impress and saving the file in a .odp format. - this seems to work.

I do not have any other problems with the other Office Apps in OpenOffice (i.e. Writer, Calc, etc.)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or tips.
