OpenOffice itself is not web based. You do need to download and
install. There are however some web based alternatives that can work
with ODF file formats (eg, http://docs.google.com/) but none that work
with presentation (that I'm aware of)

OOo Impress (the powerpoint replacement portion) can certainly import
.ppt files. There will be some minor compatibility issues, but
generally nothing that cannot be worked around.

Huh ??  Defender doesn't stop spyware (Webroot) ; firewall is only 50%
