[users] Downloading to Mac OS X

Hi,
	Have iMac OS X version 10.4.7 with 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo  
processor. Only have dial-up internet in this area. Tried to download  
Open Office suite. 7hrs, about 1/4 done got kicked off-line couldn't  
resume.
	No listing of what word processing software is compatible with Open  
Office. Are Quark or AppleWorks importable to Open Office?
