Those accents, such as ´`¨^~, if I want to type an à, I just press `,
release it and then press a. Do you mean that this doesn't work
everywhere?
I know that keyboard for different countries work different, but do you
mean
that only Swedish keyboard (and maybe a few more) have the ´ ` ¨ ^ ~ keys?

And when I switch to linux, will those keys stop work for me?

Someone said something about Ctrl+Alt+[0 followed by numbers on the
numeric
keypad] to get things like ç etc, but on my keyboard it's Alt only, not
Ctrl. Is that also typical for Swedish keyboards? Alt+014000 (just to
mention one example) gives me °. Ctrl+Alt+014000 gives me nothing.

No, Johnny, the Windows Alt + (0, then the Unicode decimal code for a glyph)
technique - e g, Alt + 0231 = ç - will no longer be available to you when
you switch to a Linux distro, as I know through my own experience after
switching to Ubuntu. Fortunately, there exist other similar - and indeed,
better - techniques for composing diacritics which work on Linux ; these
have been outlined in our earlier discussion on this forum. If you no longer
have access to these postings and need help with this matter, drop me a line
(gärna på svenska) off-forum, and I can copy the relevant discussion to
you....
