I just installed OO.o 2.1 on my Windows XP/SP2 system. I created a test
Impress file and a test Writer document. When I tried to save the Impress file
as a Microsoft PowerPoint 97/2000/XP (.ppt) file, I got a warning message about
the open file containing stuff incompatible with PowerPoint format. When I
tried to save the document as a Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP, I got a similar
message. When I opened a Microsoft Word .doc file with Writer and then just
tried to save it back in that format with no change, I still got the
incompatibility message. Repeating that experiment and actually saving the
file did, in fact, corrupt the .doc file.

Are the OO.o programs and file formats totally incompatible with Microsoft's?
Or is there some option or setting that I need to use to make this work?
