Hi to all
I'm a new user of Mac OS X. I have a Apple PowerBook G4 with Mac OS X 10.4
and a PowerPC CPU.
I have installed OpenOffice.org 2.1 following the instructions from the
Porting Project Web site.
The first time I lunched the OpenOffice.org 2.1 applications from the
Applications folder (via the icon), a window appeared asking if I would
install the Apple font or not. I presses "Yes". After that, the process
seemed to start, the OpenOffice.org up bar appeared, then the Xterm window
appeared and after that nothing: no OpenOffice.org 2.1 window appeared
properly.
Trying to quit it, the up bar desappeared but OpenOffice.org remained in the
Dock, I had to force it quit.
After that, I have tried to re-run many times the installation, also after
having moved the Vera*.ttf fonts in a new folder TTF.bad as suggested in the
issue of last November 6th 2006 (see URL
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/news/news2006.html#20061105), but nothing
changed.
Could someone suggest me what to do or what to check in the OS ? Is there
someone who has experienced the same problems I experienced ?
