The software, on Linux systems at least, cannot find a leading apostrophe. Someone came up with what is merely a workaround but, because fixing bugs is too hard, it has been elevated to the status of "feature". Because it is not really a feature, it is undocumented. One day, someone will pose a new problem for them by asking for the "feature" to be documented.
