I didn't know that was possible so I tried it. I inserted a 953 MB pdf. It seemed to work, but when I clicked on it, OpenOffice.org crashed (it just disappeared from the screen without any error messages what so ever, and the next time I started OpenOffice.org that document was suggested to be recovered). I tried it twice with the same result.
