Is there any possibility to rectify the above mentioned problem?
OpenOffice.org converts Microsoft Word documents quite well in general,
but not always perfectly. Your document is an example of one that isn't
perfect. I'm sure that this will continue to improve in the future, just
as I am sure that Microsoft will continue to change their formats in the
future.
Personally, I think that the easiest solution is to create the document in
Writer in the first place.
