Thanks Guy, OO.o 2.2 downloaded, installed in Applications and
placed on my Dock with no problems.
"porting" didn't show me how to transfer my documents over. I'm
going to hang out here awhile, expect a lot of discussion about this
today.

Hello: OOo 2.2 will install itself next to the 2.1 version in
your Applications (Programs) folder.
It will also make its own 2.2 folder in Library > Application
Support. So they can live next to each other.
I'm not too sure what happens with extra dictionaries, stylesheets
and preferences you have put into use under 2.1... According to the
FAQ (http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/faq/settingsgone/
index.html ), you can move your 2.1 settings to the new location
(Application Support/OOo 2.2). Wonder whether that includes all the
extras (macros, add-ons etc.) Guy
