James,

Thanks for the help...but wow...a 7-step process that involves 3 programs
for something as simple as cut/paste. THAT'S crazy. I just saw that OO.o
2.2 is available last night, so I'm downloading it. Maybe it will just
"magically" work there?

I'll post back after I install the newer version.

Are you trying to paste text or 'text like' objects? You might try this
with 2.1:

1. Copy the text you want to move to OpenOffice.org
2. Open a text edit window (yes this is the equivalent of Notepad in
Windows.)
3. Paste the text into this window.
4. Select the text using meta+a (if it did not remain selected.)
5. Copy the text using meta+c
6. Check the X11 edit menu to see if paste is available.
7. If the menu selection is available, paste into OpenOffice.org

The problem is not OpenOffice.org but rather Apple's X11. This is another
reason for moving to a Native version of OpenOffice.org. I am happy to
report that
progress is being made on the top ten list, but it is a long and tedious
process.

I will check (again) to see if this problem exists with OpenOffice.org 2.2,
of which
the American English and German versions are now available. Please advise
if you
have problems with this version, here in the users@ mailing list.
