Are the documents in "RTF" format? If so, you need to "associate" .rtf
files with OpenOffice. Check the Windows Help about File Associations.
You have to tell Windows to open ".rtf" files with a particular program.
In this case the program you need is OpenOffice's "soffice.exe" .
