The message that you are getting does not come from OOo -- there is no such thing as a Product key for it. You probably have file associations that are attempting to open MS Word, maybe after a trial period has expired from when your computer was originally set up. You need to change the file associations and point them to OOo; with most operating systems, that is a matter of right clicking on the file name, selecting Open With, and selecting/navigating to OpenOffice.org. You should also make sure the checkbox for always usin this applicatiion is selected -- then all your .doc files will use OOo Writer.

IF I do not have Word and have just received a word document can I find a way to still open? I have Writer now and downloaded that. WHen I try to open it gives me a message that I need Product key infomation, name etc. Can I save as in some way or open PLEASE?
