If I use Open Office applications and try to transfer them to a different computer, will MS word recognize the file or will I have to have open office on both systems?
This depends on what format you have saved your files in. If you have saved them in the OOo format (eg, files ending in .odt, etc...) then you will have to convert them to a format that MS Office understands. At the end of the day however, since OOo is free there are no limitations to how many computers you can load it on. /paul -- Vista is "dramatically more secure than any other operating system released" Bill Gates Huh ??
