Hi,

Are you sure nothing happens?
Safari by default seems to open downloads in the background. Click on
Window -> Downloads in Safari to see if it is on the list.

• Safari isn't always the most reliable browser to dwonload with. Firefox,
Camino, Seamonkey and Mozilla (all from www.mozilla.com) are free browsers
and might make your surfing life much more agreeable.
• Downloading shouldn't be too difficult: go to
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/download/x11.html
choose your Mac OS X version (Panther or Tiger probably), (if Tiger: chose
PPC or Intel) and start the download.
• once the download is completed, doubleclick on the diskimage (dmg file)
and drag the OOo icon to your Programs/Applications folder.
That should do it!
Post your question here if you can't get the installation done. Please
indicate OS version and possible error messages.

Good luck
