It should be
rpm -Uvh *.rpm
You do not need both the U and i: only one of them. If you are
upgrading, you need the U (-Uvh). If you have removed the older
version or are installing for the first time, you can use the i
(-ivh). Why the period is needed between the * and rpm I do not know
(*.rpm). I just know that it works.
You are in the RPMS folder when you use this command, aren't you?
