[users] Symbols Insetion

I need to be able to insert an "em dash" which is a longer line than 
a dash and indicates an interrupted thought. My editor keeps knocking 
out the ellipses (three dots) that I use and keeps asking for an "em 
dash" In WORD, you just click INSERT , go to Symbols and the long 
dash is there to insert. How do I find that in Open Office-writer? 
There is no long dash in the list. Two dashes doesn't do the trick.  Deloris
