No. OOo (OpenOffice.org) and MS Office will coexist on the same machine without any problem. During the OOo install you will have the option to change the "file associations" for MS Office files. If you wish to keep your existing associations (eg. double clicking on a .doc file opens it in Word), then do _NOT_ tick the boxes for this option. Hope this helps.
