Since yesterday (13.04.2007), OpenOffice.org 2.2 no longer permits me to display or alter font color.
I have tried using the Character... command in the Format menu both before typing and after selecting typed text. The font color appears in the dialogue box, but nothing I can think to do alters the font color displayed in the document. The same situation occurs when I attempt to change the font color with Stylist (where I select font that is supposed to be the color I want), and with the toolbar font color icon. In addition, font colors in texts I have already typed are no longer displayed, nor is the font color changed when I create a hyperlink, although the hyperlink works. This is all new for me after using OOo peacefully for several years now. I am running Windows XP service pack 2 on a Sony Vaio notebook computer. I have tried scanning my computer with a registry cleaner and similar utilities, reinstalling the program from a fresh download package etc., both before and after manually deleting OOo files and folders in my Programs folder and in my Docs & Settings. One peculiarity of my installation: in the past I had installed OOo on my C:\ partition; now, for reasons of space, I have been running it (for at least a year) on my D:\ partition. Sorry about the length -- I thought the record so far might make effective responses easier.
