Chuck wrote in describing something similar to my own problem. Guy had some specific questions, which I think I can answer from my own experience so far.
I also installed OOo 2.2 for PPC (I'm on a 15" flat panel iMac 800MHz G4 running 10.4.9). And I followed the instructions and have confirmed the correct version of X11, and I set the prefs for X11 as directed (e.g. millions of colors). % X -version XFree86 Version 4.3.0 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) When I try to open the OpenOffice.org 2.2.app its icon bounces on the dock, then the X icon appears alongside it, then the xterm window pops up, and then the OOo icon disappears from the dock. And so, I also seem unable to run OOo. That help narrow things down any?
