Dieter,

I am not very good at German, but are you talking about the 5 options of
default line arrangements at the Borders tab in the Format Cells dialogue?

When you click one of them, the field called "User-defined" also changes. If
you want something else than one of the five default arrangements, you can
click directly in the field "User-defined". First click the borders you want
to change, then, in the field "Style", click the border line style that you
want to append to the border you selected.

For example, first click the first default (Standard) option, which makes
all the lines to disappear from the User-defined field. Then click the
bottom line directly in the User-defined field. Now, in the Style field,
click the 1,00 pt line (for example). Now only the bottom border is present,
and it is a single line with 1,00 pt thickness.

Is this what you are trying to do?
