Hello,
I use openoffice 1.0 spreadsheets to import a txt-CSV data from databases.
With Microsoft Excel it was esier; the open office instead works only dragging
the CSV file into the openoffice 1.0 window: then it asks the symbol of
separation fileld, kind of the fields etc.
With openoffice 2.2 this doesn't work; as I drag my CSV file into the OO 2.2
window, I see a text-plain file. I tried to import it too but without results.
I think that with OO 2.2 is not possible to import CSV files like in OO 1.0 or
in Microsoft Excel.
I hope there will be an update, or better there is another way to do this job.
So you want to import a .csv file into a calc window? This can be done
with OOo2.2... Using a blank calc spreadsheet, simply click and drag
the .csv file from windows explorer into the calc sheet. This will
initiate the csv import wizard (where you define the delimiter,
etc...) - once all is finished the data is presented in calc - no
worries.
Maybe I missed the issue, but it is well supported in OOo.
/paul

Huh ?? Defender doesn't stop spyware (Webroot) ; firewall is only 50%
effective (Zdnet) ; UAC can be turned off and is annoying ; SP1 (incl
security reasons) due end of 2007...
