Is there any way to have a non zero value in a cell - say cell B5, popup
a dialog box? Right clicking on a cell doesn't offer any event options
which is what I'm really after.
I have a spreadsheet where we do data entry on quantities for various
products. For any given item, as soon as the user enters a quantity
other than 0 I'd like to put up a dialog box customized for that product
to select options.
i.e. user selects to get 3 widgets. The dialog box would ask for Widget
color, shape, material, etc.
I believe I can think of a way to have a neighboring cell monitor cell
B5 and if its >0 to run a macro that will do the pop up, but I was
hoping to avoid that ugliness.

Hello Bill,
You will need to use a "listener" that detects changes in the cell you
are interested in.
The wonderful macro document of Mr Pitonyak
(http://www.pitonyak.org/AndrewMacro.odt) contains a chapter (12?) on
how to use listeners. Alternatively I bet that if you do a search on
the Macros and APIs section of the oooforums http://www.oooforums.org
you will find that the macro you need has already been written.
Cheers,
Michele
