All this editing of thw xcu file is very difficult for the average user.
Altough there is no need for ALL settings to be accessible through the GUI,
I think it would be nice if a settings dialog (like the about:config in
Firefox, and thunderbird) could be implemented.
Would make things easier, without having to make the Tools -> Options
lists even longer for settings that the average user will never need to
change.

I was using a database to create envelopes, and somehow I clicked on
something and now it will not let me use my database. It goes
directly to print. Can you help me figure this out.
When giving the print commando for a merge letter, a window pops up
with the question: Your doc contains address database fields, Do you
want to print a form letter?
The window offers a checbox: Do not show this warning again...
However, having checked that one, there is not yet a posibility to get
the old mail merge window, which is very usefull for one or two
functions.
Futhermore, the option has effect on all documents with database fields.
And it is not possible in the GUI, to undo the option
The only way to get the pop-up window back, is editing the prop
oor:name="AskForMerge" in Writer.xcu in the user registry path.:
Close OOo (incl. quickstarter)
Look in ... Documents and Settings\[users]\Application
Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office
In this directory there is the file Writer.xcu, that you can open with
a Ascii editor (i.e Notepad, ...)
Look for the <prop oor:name="AskForMerge"> and set the value to true.
Save and close the file and start OOo again.

Cor
