Mr. Singleton, I apologize for contacting you by having found your
email
address in an answer to another person with "printing in black"
problems. Would you please look at our message in the mail archive
above and, hopefully, give us an answer to our problem.
Not for a Mac as I do not have one :-( I have cc'd the mac list at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] where you will probably receive the answer
you need.
Options to try:
* You may well find the workaround of exporting as a PDF then
printing from Preview would work.
* "File" > "Print" > Select your printer from the popup menu > click
"Properties..." > choose the "Device" tab > from the "Color" popup
menu choose "Color" > Choose "OK". I know this allows me to print in
colour instead of just black and white for a Cannon iP4000 or iP4200.
I think it also helps to improve the intensity of the black ink.
* Install the GutenPrint Drivers from <http://
gutenprint.sourceforge.net/p_Download.php3>, if it is a supported
printer <http://gutenprint.sourceforge.net/p_Supported_Printers.php3>
then you will probably get superior printing results from X11 based
applications like OpenOffice.org.
Thus far, we have had no suggestions as to what to do to print in
black.
We have selected the Print In Black Box and nothing changes. Is it
possible the CD we obtained containing OpenOffice has a bug in
it? We
use dial up and are unable to download the program on the
Internet because of its size.
Under Linux, using File > Print > Options > Print Black works.
