I missed the entire original problem, so this may have been answered. Why didn't the export to PDF feature in Writer work? And to add to the print to PDF file solutions for XP...I have been using PDF995, which works great. It has popup ads when you print to PDF, until the software is purchased for $9.95. So problem solved. (IIRC last time I looked these either costed, or printed their logo on the output; things seem to have changed for the better). I'm wondering whether it's worth raising an issue as a suggested improvement for OOo to do this directly.
