How are you getting Word to run on a Linux version? Regardless,
it should not be that hard. Right click a .doc file, and select Open
With. Select Word from the list of programs or enter its path at the
top. Click to box labeled Remember application association for this
type file. Click OK. This is how to do it for KDE, but I can not be
certain it will work for you since you have Word running within
another program.
