Hi Diane,

I create WORD docs that have tables and fill-in fields and are locked so

for both Windows and Macintosh.
Will these types of documents be fully functional in OpenOffice?
No, not fully.
The form-fields will be converted to fill in fields.
Each opens a box where you can type the text, Ctrl-Enter fills it to the
document, Next opens automatically etc.
Cancel stops opening the boxes.
Clicking on a field, opens box.
And (if I remember correct) Ctrl-Shft-F9 will start the pop-up sequence
again.
Little advantage: you won't loose your data by acceident, which happens
if you unprotect and protect again the doc in Word.
So: it isn indeed possible to work.
There are smarter things than this in Writer.
But I know that the (form) fields are an area of interest for futer
versions of OOo.
Since development goes fast ... who knows :-)
Thank you for your help and have a great day!
You're welcome.
Great day for you!
