And to add to CP's response; Ubuntu is notorious for having poor dialup
support unless it is a serial modem. I have 5 Ubuntu test machines of
various flavours: all running Feisty (7.04) except 1 that runs Dapper
6.061, and have yet to get a single dialup modem (fax or otherwise) to
work. I got one to break dialtone one evening; don't know how I did it,
but the mornings updates broke it again.

As for OOo & efax-gtk: if you print to your fax printer from OOo you'll
find the OOo printed file in your efax-gtk-server directory. You can
view the file with Evince or KghostView, Gimp etc. OOo prints just fine
to a faxprinter... getting efax-gtk or even Gfax to work properly on
your system to send the fax is a whole other experience. Good luck.
