It is unlikely that OOo (OpenOffice.org) will add an Outlook type component in the foreseeable future. Mainly due to limited developer resources, which are currently being applied to further improving the existing application. Plus the fact that there are already some very good open source Outlook style programs available (eg. SeaMonkey, Thunderbird with Lightning extension) There is a proposal for developing closer integration/links to the above Mozilla applications, but it is unlikely that this will develop to the same level that exists between MS Outlook and MS Word. > and possibly a movie editing program. Even less likely, for much the same reasons given above. Plus (IMNSHO) movie editing software is not applicable to an office productivity package. > just a thought. The contribution of constructive ideas for the project's future development are always welcome. That's what most of the open source community is all about. Hope this helps.
