Have you tried to use Windows Explorer or My Computer's Open With function?
Right click the file you want to open
click on "property" (not open with at this point)
then use the open with options.
This may work. If you click on a *.DOC
and associate it with Open Office, then the
system will associate all *.DOC files to OOo.

Hello,
I have a problem where my file associations for OOo (on Windows XP Pro)
stopped working.
I have tried reinstalling at least 4 times, to no avail...
I seem to recall there was some command I could run from the DOS prompt
with the /regsrvr32 switch or something like that, to manually reset
these...
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
