Yes. Apparently it just won't show up. Should I try 1.1?

I have the OS 10.3.9 Panther.

Thank you for your help.

Have you tried File > New and looked at the list of applications
available by file format? Presentation is the one you want to produce
slide shows.

Hello Nick,

What version are you using? At least version 2.1 is available for Panther.
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/download/x11-103.html

There was an issue wit Impress (presentation program like Powerpoint) in
case you wanted to save it as a ppt on Mac (crashing). But I thought this
issue was solved with version 2.1

A version of 2.2 for Panther has been released recently at good-day:
ftp://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/2.2.1rc1_20070514/
this is a release candidate, not entirely stable (but usually without
serious problems).

You can always try to install the 2.2, and maybe revert to 2.1 if it doesn't
work.
Version 1.1 or lower seems very old now, especially on Mac, where a lot of
work is going on in recent times.

Be sure to give the install help a read (FAQ on same porting page cited
above).
