Why couldn't you put these macro's in user/application-wide libraries?

I'm guessing a lot of these are generated internally by the IT staff for
a particular business. These are not just things that are similar for
enough businesses to make it worth porting directly to the application.
But like I say, I rarely use macros anyway. I'm sure business users
would have a lot more information than I would.

Well, I've worked a lot with macro's in MsWord and now do this in OOo.
In Word there were some good reasons to store macro's in documents and templates. In fact, it was part of the concept. In OOo there is - as far as I have seen until now - no need to store macro's in a document. It's just as easy put them in a user library. Plus, since version 2.1, exporting and importing as extension is fairly easy.

Therefore, if people write/support the idea of macro's in documents, I am interested in the underlying reasons.

Regards,
Cor
