Hi,

I am sure that the problem is mime, but I am still not getting it. I tried entering the statement = A5 - Q9, but it did not work for me. Is that exactly the way the statement is suppose to look? Is there suppose to be any '<>' or ':' in the equation? Sorry for the headache. Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

sincerely,
Alan Calcutt

Hello,

I am using open office 2.3 and my operating system is Windows XP. I
have been using open office now for a number of years. I have been

I have discovered how to add cells together. However, I am having
problems trying to subtract cells. I have read the 'help' file, but
I could not figure it out. Any assistance you can offer would be
appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and for your
assistance.

The formula is:
=A5 - Q9
Make sure you use the "=" at the beginning. Then list the first cell in the subtraction (A5 in my case), use the "-", and then list the second cell. Then use the Enter key.
