To those who have commented about my personal life, work ethic, etc: You don't know who I am or what my work ethic is. It is my job to make the best of OpenOffice and I am doing so. I help people whenever possible with their OOo problems, and I ask questions like anyone else when I have problems. I don't hate OOo. But if the question is "is openoffice right for businesses who depend on their office suite", my answer is that "it isn't there yet".
Mr Schirmacher makes a valid and important point here. Fewer argumenta ad hominem - or for that matter, ad Microsoft - and more discussion of points raised would do a better job of winning and retaining users for OOo. Mr Schirmacher's original error, as I see it, was his failure to support his conclusion by referring in his first posting to those concrete problems he and his firm have had in using OOo - the «over 20 bugs» - but this sin of omission no way justifies personal attacks on him....
