Hello Harry,

i have made a database of a csv file containing only one one adres (file
new database)
I want o create a template that when you open it automaticly changes the
fields in letter to what's in the csv
this is my csv
"Id";"Tiltel";"Name";"Surname";"Adres1";"Adres2";"Adres3";"Adres4"
1;"De heer";"Conings";"Harry";"Testa1";"Testa2";"Testa3";"Testa4"
What i did is F4 and drag the field Id , Tiltel, Name .. to my document
When i do tools mail merge wizard the fields are replaced with the data.
The fourth btton from left on the databrowser toolbar is faster.
However, not as fast a you would like, I guess.
Another way to achieve what you want:
Open CSV in OOo:
File|Open, choose csv as file type, select import options.
It opens in Calc.
Now copy a cell.
In Writer, choose paste special > DDE
Do so for all the cells.
The data, pasted as DDE, is a a table cell, so you have to tweak that a
little bit.
Save and Close Writer Doc.
(Close CVS.)
Change CSV
Open Writer doc and the changed data is there.
Or choose Edit|Links|Update.
But that is not what i want
I want a template and when you open the template it creates a new file
where the fields are automaticly be replaced by the data
so that you get a letter with a adres in it.
There is always only one record in the csv file
I can not seem to figure out how i must proceed
thanks for your help
You're welcome.
Regards,
Cor
