after the download was complete on my windows xp, I cannot seem to find
the file anywhere, I did a search and the only thing that came up were some
cookies, I also checked windows explorer and it is not there, am I doing
something wrong or not looking in the right place, I was about to dwnld
againg, but decided to contact you first to see if you could help me.

Normally the file should be in the location you asked for it to be saved in.
I see that you are using windows, so the file should be named (assuming you
selected the JRE inclusive one):
OOo_2.2.1_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US.exe
If you start a search of your entire hard drive using the file name as
above, see what happens. I assume that your browser advised you that you had
successfully downloaded it?
