Hello.
I just installed Open Office as an alternative to Word, because they will
no
longer let me edit Word Documents.
When I opened a Word file with Open Office, I noticed that some of my Word
formatting had changed. I am just wondering, will I be able to restore
that
formating, and will any edits I make still be there, should I open the
document with Word?

Since MS formats are closed and propriatary there will never be 100%
compatibility between OOo produced .doc files and Office .doc files.

However in the main, if there are differences they will be minor. You
formatting should be able to restored but you will have to test to see if
word users will see exactly the same formatting.
