OpenOffice's Impress is the open source equivalent of PowerPoint and you can open and save MS PowerPoint presentations using it. Download OpenOffice from http://download.openoffice.org/index.html and install the suite. This gives you Impress plus Writer (for Word stuff), Calc (for Excel stuff), Base (for database stuff) and more.
