This mailing list is where you can receive help and support: there is no need to log in to any other location. However you *will* need to subscribe to this list as described on this OOo web page: http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html Once you are subscribed you will find a world full of people able and willing to help with any problems provided, and this is important, you supply sufficient information about the problem, the version off OOo you are using and your operating environment > Secondly, writer, no matter HOW many times I uninstall and re-install the > programme will not let me save changes to Writer documents. Well it does work, apparently just not for you, so I'll reiterate. Give us the details of your version, your operating environment and I'll wager a pound to a pinch of salt that your problem will be solved in near real time. > This is my problem, its a major one, and I have the first draft of a thesis > on OOo due in a few weeks time. Even if you decide to waste, sorry spend your money on MS Office, :-) your previous typing will not have been in vain. All data files used by OOo are stored in an open XML format and the content is readily available and can be readily copied and pasted into any other program's data files. Peter HB
Peter, have you copied your reply to Ms McDowall to her ? It is not apparent from what she writes that she has, in fact, subscribed to the list ... Henri
