I think that problem is that there is not just one, or even two FAQ's,
there a FAQ's scattered all over the OOo site, not to mention the new
wiki FAQ. And for the most part it's nearly impossible to find what they
are looking for.

For a new user:
- They open the main page & _possibly_ click on "new user & general
info". That takes them to: http://www.openoffice.org/about_us/new.html
which is pretty informative.
- To now let's assume that they click on FAQ under the "How do I..."
sidebar. That takes them to: http://www.openoffice.org/faq.html where
they are given a dazzling choice of different FAQ's. Clicking on
http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/faq-questions.html gives a condensed
version of where they just came from.
- So now they are another layer in, and try "Most Frequently Asked
Questions" (http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/mostfaqs.html). That page is
pretty baren for what the user might be looking for, and the new user
isn't even close to documentation installation FAQ's.
- Out of frustration the user see the search bar, and enters the
question: Can I download only parts of the OpenOffice.org suite? That
leads to a search page
<http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/Search?resultsPerPage=40&query=Can+I+download+only+parts+of+the+OpenOffice.org+suite%3F&Button=Go>
that references a v0.5.pdf from marketing.
- User sees that FAQ link in the sidebar, but figures that will take
them back to where they were. So, instead they click on "Get Help?" and
that leads to: http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/servlets/HelpTOC

At that point the new user simply gives up and perhaps trys here. They
*may* try the support tab and stumble into
http://user-faq.openoffice.org/ At which point they will notice the
large typeface that proclaims "The FAQ Collaboration <--- This is the
newest set!" and naturally select that because they certainly don't want
outdated information.
- That leads them to: http://user-faq.openoffice.org/new-faq/index.html
- Now they have two obvious choices: 1) Writer and 2) Install. So
logically thinking, they select Install because this is an install
question... right? Install takes them to:
http://user-faq.openoffice.org/new-faq/faqinstall/ where they are
greeted with: Download, Installation, Upgrading, System requirements,
Uninstalling.
- So now if by this time the remember what they wanted to ask, they
select "Download". That takes them to:
http://user-faq.openoffice.org/new-faq/faqinstall/faqgeneraldownload/
I'll not bother to go through each option, but suffice it to say that
the answer is finally there under "Can I download only parts of the
OpenOffice.org suite?". Hooray! we found the answer.

But wait a minute... the link for that answer is:
http://user-faq.openoffice.org/new-faq/faqinstall/faqgeneraldownload/168.html
and your link is:
http://documentation.openoffice.org/faqs/installation/003.html
How can it be possible to have the same question answered in two
different projects/URL's one might ask?

Pretty confusing eh?
