When I realized that there was an update for OpenOffice 2.1, I went
for it, but found I was beginning to download the entirety of 2.2.1.
This is not the end of the world, but as I am working with dial-up, it
is a major chore.
I am a novice, so it would not surprise me to be told I was missing an
obvious button; nor would I be surprised to be told that the changes
between 2.1 and 2.2.1 are more than a mere patch, and that it is
necessary to start over.
If it is necessary to start over, is it simplest to erase my first
OpenOffice first, or can the new group of files simply overlay the
originals? I am particularly wondering how to avoid needing to
download dictionaries again and again—a hypothetical question at this
point, I have none on board.
As I said, I am a novice, so any help will be welcome, but if I would
more usefully be on another site, tell me.
To update, you have to install the entire package. You don't have to
remove the previous version to install it.
