There are several solutions to this fairly commonly encountered situation.
1. Install OpenOffice on your work computer. This way there will be no
compatibility issues when going from your home computer to your work
computer.
2. Or from your home computer, save the file as a Word document. (File >
Save As, and then for file type, select Microsoft Word 97)
3. Or if you don't need to edit the document on your work computer (just
need to read it or print it), you can send the document as a PDF file.
(File > Send > E-mail as PDF)
