Many apologies that I omitted an item in the path to this suggestion
in my earlier reply. This is what I should have said:
One possibility is that you have OpenOffice Writer set up to print
your work as a brochure. This is useful when you want it - but
obviously not when you don't.
Go to Tools | Options... | OpenOffice.org Writer | Print | Pages. Is
there a tick by Brochure? Remove it.
