When opened in calc, the 'balance owed' column gets all jumbled up. see

I and every one else at work uses excel, My Boss has begun to use open
office on his laptop and wants me to solve this problem. he does not

I agree with your boss - it's not a problem with OpenOffice. When I open
the spreadsheet with OpenOffice, I get the same results as your Excel
screenshot.
The question is: Why is your boss's Calc giving different results? The key
seems to be the formula in K54.
Is the spreadsheet that your boss is opening the same spreadsheet that
everyone else is opening, or a copy that may have been modified? The
formula refers to cell I54. Column I is hidden. Is it possible that there
is a value entered there?
Or is it possible that he has turned recalculation off? Check the Tools /
Cell Contents menu section.
