But buy the O'Reilly GIMP book. GIMP is very powerful, and it's
user-friendly to those who know it, but it's rather intimidating to
the novice.
My wife and 10 year old daughter can use it. Maybe not all the features
but they use it. My wife has gone through the tutorials to learn more
features.
Perhaps, but after I'd been using it for several years, reading the book
(it's not O'Reilly, though -- it's APress), showed me that I'd been
doing a /lot/ of things the hard way because I didn't know any better.
