I have been using Madriva Linux on all of my computers until I recently
installed Ubuntu 7.04 one one of them. Hagar was nice enough to give me a
link to the web page I mentioned. It is important to remove the Ubuntu
version of OOo before installing the new version. That is why I quoted the
article. Note that I also said he could skip down to step #5 after making
sure he had removed the Ubuntu version. Telling someone just to use
dpkg -i *.deb without first making them understand the importance of
removing the Ubuntu version first with synaptic might cause problems for
anyone who did not know it was necessary.
