You have to do the same for the gnome package a level or two down.
Not with OOo V2.3 you don't! As I said earlier, the -R takes a directory as the
target and correctly installs the whole shooting match! All the OP has to do,
having first removed all traces of any previous version(s), is to point dpkg at
the DEBS directory, one level down from the tar'ed output directory:
OOG680_m5_native_packed-1_en-US.9221
Of course, if a Language Pack is required then the same technique is followed
for that package.
